We are currently campaigning to win the by-election being held in Bulmershe and Whitegates Ward within Reading East caused by the disqualification of a former Lib Dem councillor.
Polling day is Thursday 13th November and we are working hard to ensure our candidate Alison Swaddle is elected. Labour won a seat from the Lib Dems in this ward in May 2014 and we must stop Labour winning here again.
Alison is out with the Conservative team every day during this election but has been talking to residents every Saturday all year round for the last 7 years. She enjoys getting involved with her community and is serving her second term as a Bulmershe School Parent Governor. She’s also a Beaver Scout leader iand part of the litter-picking initiative.
Alison and her husband live in the ward with their two teenage children who are at local schools. She runs her own small business. She would be a strong voice for you on Wokingham Borough Council and speak up on local concerns about development, speeding and inconsiderate parking.
Reading East MP Rob Wilson said “We need a hard working local woman like Alison to be the strong voice of Woodley and Earley on Wokingham Borough Council, other parties have only let residents down.“
Please call or email Alison with your views or concerns or to offer help for her campaign.

ACTION FOR YOU ALL YEAR ROUND
What we have achieved together:
■ Woodley and Earley named in top 20 towns in UK as great places to live and bring up a family.
■ Delivering improved GP access through the campaigning of local Conservative MP Rob Wilson.
■ Listening to residents all year round, not just at election time—unlike some parties.
■ Tackling benefit fraud, so that no one cheats council tax payers of public money, no matter who they are.
■ Investing in new sports facilities, new extra care flats for older people, revitalised leisure centre, regenerated schools, new cycle paths and more to come.
■ A thriving town centre, with great markets, business festival and many special events.
■ Unlike Labour who refused to take up a post on planning Committee the Conservatives are a strong voice for local residents.
■ Supporting community initiatives such as local litter schemes.
