Rob Wilson MP, with event sponsor National Careers Advice Service and partners Jobcentre Plus and Reading UK CIC, is aiming to recreate the success of the previous three job fairs, each of which attracted more than 1,800 job hunters in search of new opportunities. A host of big name companies offering 1,000s of new jobs have already signed up to the 4th Reading Job Fair, including Grosvenor Casino and John Lewis who joined the Reading East MP to launch the fair at the Penta Hotel on Friday.
Other companies represented at the launch of the fair, which will be held on Thursday October 4, 2012 at the Penta Hotel on Oxford Road, and confirmed for the job fair include Broad Street Mall and Penta Hotels.
Rob said: ““Reading is on the up, but I will not rest in my ambition to find my constituents’ jobs. There are few things more important than giving people opportunities and getting people into good jobs at the moment.”
Preparations for October’s Reading Job Fair are off to a flying start with several big name companies already on board and many others in the pipeline. Today we have pleasure in announcing the support of National Careers Advice Service, Grosvenor Casino, John Lewis, Broad Street Mall and the Penta Hotel; all well known organisations and all with jobs on offer.
Broad Street Mall, John Lewis and Grosvenor Casino, who all attended Friday’s launch event, have over 300 jobs available between them and will be using the job fair to fill as many of those vacancies as possible.
Rebecca Colleran, John Lewis Reading Community Liaison Co-ordinator, said: “John Lewis is really looking forward to the job fair. It is a good chance for us to interact with the local community and we have a great chance to fill the 100 plus full-time and part-time vacancies we have available in the run-up to the Christmas period.”
