Dan Hannan spoke to a large audience of Conservative supporters when he visited the Salisbury Club on Thursday 17 November. It was great to see such a mix of members and supporters all eager to hear what Dan had to say and to ask questions.
Dan Hannan is one of the four Conservative Members of the European Parliament who represent the South East of England.
Dan described the bloodless and genteel coup d'etat - in Italy as in Greece elected premiers have been toppled in favour of rule by technocrats who are implementing programmes that would be toppled at a general election. He said it was their policies that created the problem in the first place, they presided over the debt, they are keeping the Euro at the expense of the prosperity of the constituent nations. They are responsible for admitting countries who didn't meet the debt criteria at the outset.
"We now see the true face of Europe, the people are cut out all together, their elected representatives are sidelined. The lamps are going out all over Europe."
Speakers are regularly welcomed to Reading East to share their vision and insights to the workings of Westminister and Brussels. If you are interested in attending a future event please contact our office.
