The final phase of consultation on Reading’s Local Transport Strategy 2036 began earlier this month, including a series of schemes and initiatives to combat the poor air quality and congestion affecting parts of the town. Plans include a third Thames crossing, a North Reading Orbital route, Demand management, including a workplace parking levy, road user charging and active travel.
We know that some of you have already raised concerns about many of these items. It is important that you take part in the consultation, so your views are heard.
We are keen to hear your feedback on the strategy. Please do comment on the RBC website. If you would like to discuss the strategy with the Conservative group spokesman for Strategic Environment, Planning and Transport, please contact Jane Stanford-Beale on 07795807249 or [email protected]. You can read the draft Strategy and have your say at www.reading.gov.uk/transport2036. The strategy consultation is open until 30 August 2020.
Please join RBC for a live transport Q&A next Tuesday at 6pmfor a chance to ask your transport questions.
